About Me
Welcome, I am so glad you’re here. Beginning counseling can be a daunting task, and I am here to help by answering any questions you may have. My priority is to help my clients navigate their challenges to find peace and health in every aspect of their lives.
I am a graduate of Florida State University where I earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Clinical Social Work. Throughout my education and first several years of work, I supported families and individuals that were exposed to complex trauma, abuse, and neglect.
As a lifelong equestrian, I have personally experienced the many positive benefits of spending time in nature and the equine environment and building relationships with the horses in my life.
I am a Certified Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner through the HERD Institute and completing post graduate course work with the University of Denver’s Institute for Human and Animal Connection to further specialize in facilitating equine assisted psychotherapy sessions.
Strengths Based Therapy
We all have unique and innate strengths, I help my clients tap in to their full potential.
Systems Theory
Together we will explore your relationships, the roles you play in your connections, and how past experiences shape your current reality.
My Approach
I believe in the unique strengths of each client and depending on your personal situation we may discuss a variety of approaches to help you realize your full potential. Some common approaches are highlighted below.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
The way we think impacts what we feel, and how we behave. You can control this feedback loop and make positive change in your life.
Equine Facilitated Interventions
Human and horse interaction that leads to a better understanding of self, your relationships, and your behavior. A beautiful way to learn more about yourself and connect with horses in nature.
My Values
Empathy
As an empath, I understand the shoes my clients are in, and I can appreciate the many challenges they face.
Honesty
I build a trusting therapeutic relationship by sharing openly and transparently with clients, just as they share with me.
Safety
Our time together is a safe place for clients to be themselves. In equine sessions, all precautions are taken to create an environment that fosters client awareness and safety. Confidentiality is paramount.
Peace
It’s not easy to take the time and deep effort to engage in therapy. I promise to provide a peaceful setting and grounding experience for our time together.
Action
Whether you can begin today, or sometime soon, we focus on building a more peaceful life through actionable steps and goals.
Compassionate Equestrianism
The equines we work with in therapy are a respected part of the treatment team and treated as sentient and autonomous beings.
Motivation comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.
